Analysis Ready Data has become a ubiquitous phrase over the past few years, but the definition varies greatly across user groups and data providers.

The Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) Land Surface Imaging Virtual Constellation (LSI-VC) has sought to provide one definition, specifically for CEOS Analysis Ready Data for Land (CARD4L), as well as a means for assessing datasets against these specifications.

CEOS Analysis Ready Data for Land (CARD4L) are satellite data that have been processed to a minimum set of requirements and organised into a form that allows immediate analysis with a minimum of additional user effort, and interoperability both through time and with other datasets. For more information see: http://ceos.org/ard/

CEOS Agencies are now working towards these specifications, with a view to making these datasets available alongside traditional products.

This webinar is being organised by CEOS as a means to strengthen the dialogue between CEOS and the broader community on the topic of ARD, and to explore what interfaces and cooperative activities are needed to increase data use, choice and flexibility for users.

In particular, the following key topics are proposed:

– Introduction to the CEOS Analysis Ready Data for Land (CARD4L) Framework and CEOS ARD Strategy.

– Roadmap for CEOS Agency ARD development, the strategies being employed to reach users, and how CEOS Agencies can work with the broader community to maximise impact.

– Suitability of the CEOS ARD Specifications and Framework to data providers, data aggregators and data users; and interest in adopting the concept.

– Avoiding duplication of effort in this space, awareness of similar efforts and necessary coordination, existing channels or coordination efforts or groups that could be a host to discussions around ARD.

– Future directions for CEOS ARD, e.g., other useful specifications; expansion to other domains such as water, atmosphere, etc.

This is intended to be the first in a series of webinars that will explore various aspects of both Analysis Ready Data and Future Data Architectures. The agenda will include significant time for discussion to promote dialogue between participants.

Please register below to receive the teleconference access details and further information as we approach the meeting.

We look forward to speaking with everyone soon.
